General
Diatomaceous earth, or sea grass, is a natural mineral that is made from the fossilized remains of tiny aquatic organisms.
Diatomaceous earth has natural antimicrobial properties, acting physically without the use of chemicals or toxins. In its raw state, it attracts and retains bacteria and parasites, drying them out and eliminating them.
Preserving Natural Color
At Moonstone, we ensure that our diatomaceous earth remains free from colorants or additional substances, maintaining its natural hue. However, due to its light color, it can stain when exposed to dirt or darker liquids.
Handling Spills
If a spill occurs, promptly blot up any excess liquid to prevent absorption.
Removing Stains
For light stains, dampen the product and gently rub it with sandpaper. This method helps restore its appearance without damaging the surface.
For tougher stains, you can apply small amounts of diluted bleach or hydrogen peroxide.
If your stone is broken and unusable in its current state, you can put pieces in a cotton bag and place it in a shoe closet, wardrobe, toilet, or drawer to absorb moisture or deodorize.
- Handle diatomite carefully. It could break if it falls or is subjected to a shock.
- Let the product dry naturally and avoid direct exposure to the sun or near a heat source.
- Do not use soap or detergent to wash it as they can alter its absorption power and stain it.
- Do not expose diatomite to colored or greasy substances as they can stain it.
If you notice that the absorption capacity has decreased, lightly sand the surface with the sandpaper provided with it and wipe off the powder with a damp cloth.
Please turn your product upside-down for some time so that it regains its original flat shape.
Delivery
Processing Time
We process orders from Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Typically, preparing an order takes 1 to 2 working days. After preparation, delivery usually takes an additional 24 to 72 hours, depending on the service selected. Once your order ships, you will receive a notification and a tracking number to monitor your shipment’s status.
Delivery Details
All packages require a signature upon delivery. If you are unavailable at the time of delivery, you can either reschedule or collect your package from a nearby post office.
Delivery Times and Rates
Please note that the delivery times provided do not include the processing time mentioned above. Orders placed after 2 p.m. on Fridays will be processed on the following Monday. Delivery costs vary based on the number of items ordered and are displayed during the checkout process.

No worries! If you are not present during delivery, the delivery person will leave a notification in your mailbox and you can either reschedule a new delivery or pick up the package at the post office of your choice (usually the one closest to your delivery address).
